Stuff going on in my head..

Do something out of character.

My advice/thought of the day for today is this: Do something that is totally not you; something that no one would ever expect you to do. It gives you such a rush and a feeling of empowerment, and can just make life more interesting. ;-) And, it will probably make for good girl talk later on. So, yes, I did something totally un-Nicole-like; and it was scary as hell, but fun and exciting at the same time. Maybe one day you'll find out what it is ;-) Right now I'm enjoying keeping it to myself. heheheh.

I've been slack in my updates! So much has been going on. I found out early last week that Kathy knew all about the puppy, as well as how much people did or did not chip in. So.. I started scheming with Melissa to get the puppy here for Thanksgiving, especially since we all would be here to give it to her. So, we got all the details worked out, I was able to leave work early Wednesday night, and mom & I drove to the NC/SC border and picked up the little bitty puppy. She's sooo adorable. There are pictures on my webshots page. Mom & I got back to W-S around 3am, then I was up till about 4 playing with her. I didn't sleep too well for the few hours I tried to sleep. I kept waking up, which woke her up, etc etc etc. So, I finally got up around 10am I guess, cuz the big dogs wanted to go outside. I finally got to the parentals house around 12:30 and we hid her until the rest of the siblings got there around 1. It was quite exciting. I carried her out into the living room where everyone was, and my sister had this look on her face like "what the heck? I'm not supposed to get this now!!" She didn't quite know what to do for about 5 mins. Everyone oohed and ahhhed over her for a while and we threw around names. All the kiddos were very good with her, and my sister fell right into the "new mommy" role and carried the puppy with her everywhere, etc. It was cute. She & Melly had a blast playing with each other. The other 3 dogs didn't much care for her. My sister came up with Jade for the name. Cute, even though it means green. ;-) So, that was our Thanksgiving. The usual food and chatter. It was considerably less noisy than it could have been, due to 2 of the nephews being ensconced in the newest Harry Potter dvd.

No one wanted to brave the throngs of people with me Friday am.. so I decided to go alone. I think I rolled out of bed at 8:30, and headed to Goody's and Fashion Bug and Target.. all before the 11am early bird specials ended. I got some faboo deals, so I'm happy. Some new tops for me as well as quite a few Christmas gifts!! Then, my sister Christine & I went to the mall on Saturday where I did even more Christmas shopping. I'm about 3/4 of the way done, hurray! So, that was my exciting holiday weekend.

This week is exciting, in that I'm finally going to get back to Baptist to volunteer with the diabetes clinic! Yay! They've extended it to 4 days now, so eventually I might be able to do 2 mornings a week! Hot damn. It's so nice to be wanted. Bobbi, the woman who runs the clinic, keeps saying how she can't wait to have me back as much as I can. =) Too bad she can't pay me!!

I'm trying to think of what else I should be posting about... nothing is jumping out at me. My life has become very boring. Well, sort of. ;-)
