Update on the "job"

Well.. nothing contrete yet, but here's the latest phone tree gossip from the top. Demitria, one of the other CM's, has been in contact with Sherley the most. I'm not sure whether that's her doing or his. It kind of annoys me that he hasn't called to check in with me himself yet, but maybe she's told him the 2 of us are keeping in contact. Anywho.. so the latest is that Dr. Sullivan (president/ceo whatever the hell his titel WAS lied yet again and did not mail us our checks. Demitria called me this morning to tell me that and that I could call him if I wanted any more info on that.. I forgot about it since Tucker came over minutes after I got that message and then I was out and about all day. Then Demitria called again around 8 tonight to say she had just gotten off the phone with Sherley and that his plan is to get Dr. Sullivan to sign the company over to him so he can go forward with it here in W-S. Sherley is trying to get meetings set up with people here in W-S to get things moving and get money flowing. We are supposed to figure out how much money we are owed, and as soon as he gets all this finalized, he will pay us what we are owed, and if we want to keep on with him, we can. IF we don't, he won't hold it against us at all. I think if he can get the paperwork trail moving, that he will make good on his word, and that he will be able to get this up and running. Of course, I'm not going to turn down another job offer if Stokes or Forsyth county offer something to me. But, if Sherley can make it so he can pay me until that happens, I will gladly stick with him for a little bit, and maybe even part time after that, just so I can have my toes in it or something, you know? I really believe that he had no part in all this and that he got screwed over as much as we did. And I'm not usually wrong about my judgements of people. So, there's that.

Tomorrow I'm meeting up with Rodney, another guy that works for Success. I rode to Gastonia with him a few weeks ago for a silly training. He's been involved in the process of starting things up in W-S for over a year..the business and networking side of things. When all this started going down, he called me out of the blue to see what I thought and what I was going to do, etc. He mentioned perhaps being able to help me find something else, that he knows people in this career area. So, he suggested we meet up for lunch or dinner to brainstorm, etc. I've been trying to figure out if it's 100% 'work' related, or if it's just an excuse to get me to go to lunch with him or something. !? It could be either very easily... just from some of the things he's said or the way he's said them.. so we'll see. He's a nice guy, we had fun riding to/from and hanging out at the boring trainings in Gastonia.. so whatever :-P

On to non-job related stuff:

I mowed my yard yesterday and today.. wow. I didn't realize it was so freakin' big!! I only got 3/4 of it done yesterday before I was ready to fall out. So I did the rest today, after Alice & I got back from hiking at Horizons Park. Yeah, I'm nuts I know. But, it was fun even though both days after I got done I was sweating like a freakin' pig!

My housewarming party was a blast. For a while the place was packed! People were in the dining room, the living room and the kitchen, yakking away. I didn't get to really chill & talk to Amy & Bill because babysitting people were there and I was talking to them and showing them around. AH well, I have to go see their house soon, so we can make up for that!! I at least got to see and touch Amy's baby "bump" as hollywood is calling pregnant belly's now. I STILL have chex mix and 'white trash' left over.. I had enough food for 3x as many people! But, everyone had fun and loved my house, so it was all good.

Guess that's about it. I'm sleepy. I'm amazed that I'm still going to bed relatively early and getting up by 10am every day! I guess I was more into a routine that I thought! Gotta get my beauty sleep for my 'lunch date'!
