The concert
Dammit Blogger! The freakin’ page just froze and I lost my post. Grumble grumble.
Anyway.. so the concert was great! And, as you can tell from the picture, we had pretty awesome seats. To answer your question, La, I just kept searching on Ticketmaster.com until they popped up, much like I did when I got the good seats for NSYNC.
SO, Melissa and I arrived at my house about the same time, around 6:10 and took speed showers and got ready to leave. We stopped at Jersey Mikes on the way to get some grub, and ended up getting to the concert right about 8, and came in the doors as Sugarland was starting. I stopped at the “official tour merchandise” stand and got the cool Alcohol shirt I’d seen on Brad Paisley’s website! Melissa got some ungodly expensive beer, and we headed to our seats! We were in row L, right smack dab in the middle of the row, which sucked b/c we were packed in like sardines and both of us were up close and personal with the people on either sides of us. Sugarland did about 15-20 mins, they were good. I know 1 of their songs really well, and had heard one other on the radio. But they were still fun to bop along too. Then we had about a 10-15 stage change intermission to get ready for Sara Evans. She was really good, as I figured she would be. I’m not too sure why she’s opening for anyone at this point, I think she’s big enough to have her own tour. She sang a bunch of her older songs that I love, so that made me happy. Then, I guess it was prob another 15 or so mins waiting for Brad’s stage people to get things ready. And, on he came! I can’t even remember what song he opened with.. how horrible of a fan am I?? He sounded like he had a bit of stopped up nose or a cold or something, but still sounded good. He did a couple of really old songs, lots of ones from the newest album, and a few random covers. It was an awesome show. He’s not as energetic as I thought he’d be, but he chit chatted with the band and with the audience and had fun. Of course, he sang Alcohol, Mud on the Tires and Celebrity. 3 of my favorite songs. I didn’t think of it soon enough to take a video clip of Celebrity, but I did get a 30sec one of Alcohol! Tee hee. I’m going to post the rest of the pics on webshots when I’m done with this post.
It was a most enjoyable experience. I love going to concerts, esp when the artists are just as good live as they are on a CD. As usual, I wish he had done a longer show and included more of his older songs.. AND, he didn’t even sing “Time Well Wasted” which was the name of the tour!!
