I'm a slacker, I know

Yeah yeah, I haven't posted in a while. There is nothing spectacular to tell though! My life is BORING!

I have thuroughly enjoyed my vacation this week. I didn't end up going anywhere. Just stuck around W-S and chilled, and had Nicole time. Monday Amy & I went to Concord Mills and did some fun shopping. Tuesday my brothers & sisters & children came up/over for my dad's birthday. Thank goodness the weather was nice so everyone could play outside. Everyone had their various puppies too, so we had 5 kids under 12, 3 puppies under 6 months, Melody & the 3 old lady dogs. It was a zoo! All the puppies got along tho, which was amazing.

Wednesday & Thursday Mom & I drove all over the city checking out houses for rent. It was a little discouraging, cuz a lot of the really nice looking ones were way out of my price range. I did find 2 that I really like. One is on a dead end street with only a few houses on it, 3 bedrooms, and new floors (hardwood laminate), new kitchen stuff, a front porch and a nice back deck; not to mention a HUGE yard with lots of wooded area around it. It's awesome, now I just have to think about it seriously and decided if (1) I can afford to bump up my monthly rent by $100; (2) afford the crazy deposit and pet deposit (almost $1400!!); and (3) want to move when I don't know what my job situation will be in a few months. I know I can still be at TCH, but I really want to move on & up. And, to do that, I might have to broaden my job search area. I really don't want to pass up this house, cuz I love that it's in the "country" but not far from the mall or Wal Mart. It feels like it's in the country, but it's right off Shattalon, for all of you W-S people reading this. BUT, then again, if I wait until I find a new job, I might be able to afford a better house. !? ACK!!

As for the job front, I just sent off application/resume etc to Guilford Tech Commnity College, for a counselor position- doing academic counseling, advising, and personal counseling. It sounds awesome, and doesn't require any kind of licensure. But, it might get me the experience to get my license!! And, I think that my graduate assistant job at Austin Peay gives me 2 years of great experience working with the college population. They've got 2 positions "open until filled", so I hope to at least get a phone call!! It's in Jamestown, which is not too far from High Point, so it wouldn't be too bad of a commute. I also found some school counselor positions, all in Guilford Country, that don't require licensure.. so I might apply for those too. It can't hurt to apply.. !? So, cross some fingers for me, please!! =)

What else?! OH! Today we had a talent show at TCH. They talked me into doing it with them (They/them being other Oxford staff). So, we sang "Lean On Me", and Dee played her guitar and a few of us sang. It was cute. AND, we won!! Of course, the kids were there, and our girls and some of the boys screamed and hollered for us... They didn't know a lot of the other staff that were in it (administration and other non-direct care people). That was fun. It reminded me that I don't want to go back to work on Sunday though!! :-P

Guess that's it for now!

OH! I must say a big congratulations to Lauren & Steve, who are now officially engaged!! Another one bites the dust! :-P Sko Lauren & Steve!

Hey, that house sounds really cool. =) It's always so much more fun to live in a place with a yard where you don't have to share walls with anybody else! It's hard to know what to do with your job situation though... especially if you think you might get a job somewhere that's not Winston-Salem, because maybe you'd rather move to Greensboro or wherever than commute every day. But I dunno. Good luck trying to sort it all out! =)
