I finally did it!
I've resisted long enough... curiosity and peer pressure got the best of me and I've finally started reading the Harry Potter books. I'm a good chunk into the 3rd book right now. The 1st and 2nd went by very quickly. I just started last week, I think it was. Typically, I only read while I"m at the Y.. every once in a while I'll read myself to sleep. Well, lately I've been carrying the HP book with me everywhere.. at work, before bed, at the pool. I'm quite impressed. I must admit, everyone was right. I might even watch the movies now too. I just tend to resist things that get all hyped up. I did the same with the Disney Pocohantas movie... and when I watched it, I hated it. Glad it's a different experience with Harry Potter. So, soon I will be able to discuss fluently the world of HP with the rest of the world. Rah.

Horray! I agree that sometimes things that are hyped up really aren't all that great. But could Katherine, Erica and I really be THAT wrong?! :-) I'm glad you've joined the HP-world! You have an advantage too, because you can read straight through until book 6. No waiting for years and jumping at Barnes & Noble when the next one comes out. You'll only get to do (have to do?) that now, with the 7th one.

Ugh, Pocahontas WAS terrible. I'm glad I watched it while I was babysitting and didn't have to pay money for it. =)
