In case I forgot to email you...
I was unofficially offered a fabulous new job, doing case management and community and family based services/counseling with Success Behavioral Healthcare. This is a mental health agency that is taking over parts of the big Winston Salem mental health provider that is shutting down. It's very exciting. I'll be doing work with children and families, hopefully intervening before the kids are sent to places like The Children's Home, or maybe placing them in places like TCH. I interviewed with this place on Monday, and have been not so patiently waiting to hear back all week. Today's 'offer' was more of a pre offer and courtesy so I wouldn't have to wait all weekend without hearing something!!! They're still completing background and record checks (like I have anything that would pop up..) and I will get all the official details (including money, start date, training info, etc) on Monday. SO, at that point, I will decide whether I want to go bargain with the HR dept at The Children's Home to see if they want to keep me there in a similar position. I doubt that will happen, because TCH is having some budget issues and it is widely thought that they will shut down within the next year... but we shall see.
I am soooooo excited, because this type of job will get me the hours and supervision that I need so I can get my license to be a counselor. =) Finally!! And, the man I interviewed told me that they had 150 applications, and chose 6 people. How 'bout them odds?? I can't wait until Monday to get all the details.
Yay!!! Thanks for any happy thoughts, crossed fingers and prayers you might have sent my way with all this job stuff. Patience does pay off in the end. :o)
