It seems that waiting is all I do anymore

It sucks to update when you have no happy news to report. But, since everyone wants to know, I spose I can do it.

So, I'm still sitting around not so patiently waiting on this supposed job. I can't remember what I last posted, and I don't feel like opening another window to check it out, so forgive me if I repeat myself.

Apparantly, Dr. Sullivan (the founder, CEO, President) is more of a crooked man than any of us even thought. The story is that he is in cohoots with the Chief Fin Officer (CFO) Bill Duffy. Apparantly according to 2 sources they are involved in some romantic affair. And, yes, they're both men. This comes from emails that the IT guy found and from Dr. Sullivan's daughter who said her mom left him b/c she found him involved with a man. Wow. So, CFO guy steals/embezzles/loses $100,00+ and doesn't get fired and people get suspicious. CFO guy has a real estate business that he leaves Success for, to show houses, etc, and doesn't get in any trouble. Why? B/c we find out that Dr. Sullivan has a hand in the business as well, so he's making money when CFO sells houses. Wow. Then, Dr. Sullivan 'borrows' money from the 401k's of people and causes more questioning. He's also done something with Medicaid, that has charges against him. Medicaid is FEDERAL, meaning he could and will most likely do jail time. :-O Dayum! I got all this info from my lunch with Rodney.

So, Sherley, who hasn't gotten paid since June yet continues to work and not question anything, decides to give Dr. Sullivan an ultimatum of signing W-S over to him to run on his own and as his own. So, that's what's suppsedly in the process right now. Sherley has people here that want to invest at least $20K which will allow him to pay us all what we're owed. That was supposed to be done by today, but it's not. Waiting on Centerpoint to sign over contracts and such. Jesus.. it's a freakin' soap opera. Sherley has asked us all (all 3 or 4 of us) if we'll stay with him, and I think the majority of the answers were, as long as you pay us, we'll stick around until we get something else. If, in the mean time, this place makes it big, then we'll be able to stick with it indefinitely and have been involved from the bottom up. If I don't hear anything from anyone by this evening, I'm going to call Sherley myself and chat with him and see what he has to say. I've not spoken directly to him since all this shit went down nearly 2 weeks ago.

So, there you go. Still waiting on Stokes County DSS, the 2 positions close out on Nov 1, so I've got at least 2 more weeks. UGH! Nothing else. There is another mental health place that I sent stuff to 2 weeks ago, but I've heard nothing. I guess maybe I should call them and see what their deal is. I'm really hoping that Sherley can get his shit together and make this work, b/c if I can stick with him and be involved from the bottom up, chances are I can move up the ranks pretty quickly and help the place evolve for sticking it out. Ya know??

In the mean time, much thanks to the bank of the parents for keeping me afloat.

Now, onto other more interesting topics. Lunch with Rodney. If you will recall, Rodney is the guy I went to Gastonia with for some stupid all day long training. He called me when all this happened 2 weeks ago, wanting to check up on me and help put me in contact with people. And, I've always wondered if that was just an excuse... So, we finally met for lunch last week. I don't know if I got my answer.. but he did give me an open invitation to go to his beach house and wanted a hug goodbye. That is not so much 'business', ya think? He called again last night, and we chatted for a bit, but he had another call and never called back. So?! Who knows. He's quite the successful business man, co-owns 2 businesses, went to Carolina and played FB. Not too shabby. So, we'll see what happens.

Another happy-ish note, it's finally gotten COLD. I hope it stays like this. =)
