Peak Fitness

I did it, I joined Peak Fitness. As of February 15, I will no longer be a member of the YMCA. Kinda sad, I've been a member for 3 years, I think. But, this place is open 24 hours, and is half the cost of my Y member ship. Rock on!! And it's HUGE. They have 40 treadmills, 40 ellipticals, and probably 25 bikes. It's nuts. So, hopefully I'll like it. I can go workout at 3am if I want to! HAH, that'd be funny.

In other news, I've found another job I want. Yeah, I know I've only been at this one for 3 months, but this one will put me on the track I need to be on to get licensed. It's with Youth Villages, which is an agency that's been in Tennessee for quite a while. I talked to them about doing an internship before I decided I wanted to come back to NC. A lot of people in my program at APSU worked with them at some point in time, and got a lot of good experience. Anyway, I'm on a newsletter emailing list, and got the monthly newsletter today with the headline "Youth Villages expands to NC"! So, I checked it out, and they're in Greensboro, Concord and some other city. They do intensive family counseling and preservation, with case management. It's perfect. (or sounds it) So, I don't know if I should apply and consider leaving my current job? I guess it can't hurt to apply and see if they interview me... I need to be on the path to reach my ulitmate goal of getting licensed, which I'm not currently. So, they can't hold that against me. We'll see. I think I'll fill out hte online application and see what happens.

So that's my news for the day. Any advice on the job situation?

Ooh, the gym sounds neato! I hope you have a good time there. =)

As for the job thing, I guess you're right about applying, since it does put you on the right track for what you want to do ultimately. If your current job people find out you applied but you don't get the job, though, they might be resentful... who knows? It's a shame they didn't expand into NC a few months ago! I'd pursue it, since it's really about what you need to do for yourself and your career. Good luck!
