Blogger sucks

Damn blogger. I had a gigundous post the other day, and thought “Oh! I’m writing this in blogger and not word, I should copy & paste it in case blogger freaks out.” Well, I highlighted everything and then it all disappeared. POOF! Sonsofbitches.

So, now I am starting over, in word, so I won’t lose the damn thing.

First order of business is that work is crazy. The days of having nothing to do are over for a while, I do believe. The state is changing its service definitions as of March 20. This is a royal pain in any case managers ass. They’re eliminating what is currently known as Community Based Services (CBS) and splitting services into 4 categories. It’s better than the original plan, which was to get rid of it all and replace it with nothing, but now we have more work to do. We have to assign people to one of the 4 categories, and make sure their charts are up to date in terms of psych evals, service orders, rx’s for care, etc. And, anyone that doesn’t currently have CBS gets shoved to the end of the line and won’t get services for a good while. They want to make the transition as easy and calm as possible w/o interrupting those currently receiving services. For once, people with mental health diagnoses are getting the better end of the deal, b/c they automatically go into the ‘community support’ category b/c of their diagnosis. All the others are vying for 280 some CAP slots (one of the big developmental disability programs already in existence) for the whole Centerpoint catchment area. There are 3 agencies trying to get their consumers into these slots, and I work for the smallest of the 3 and we have over 90 consumers who would benefit from being put into this program.. So you can see it’s going to cause some problems… Some of these people have been on the waiting list for CAP for years and now other people will get slots ahead of them and yell at us for it. Ugh. The good news is that we are all being ‘reassigned’ to specific areas, and I’m getting assigned to all the mental health cases. RAH! That’ll mean I’ll lose some of my fun DD clients, but oh well. Leave it to the state to screw with the already working system we had. :-P

Besides all that, I’ve been working late a lot the past few weeks. I had to meet with clients after school or after work type dealios. Or, just take clients to appointments that lasted forever and a day. Ugh. It meant I got to go in late almost every day last week, but it cut into my me time!

I did finally apply for the job with Youth Villages.. via the internet. I got a message when I submitted the online application that I should hear something within a few days.. that was Wednesday, I think, and I’ve heard nothing yet. So we shall see. I’ll have to see if there is a local number I can call and follow up with.

This post is no where near as cool as the original one I lost.. I hate that. I keep thinking, no that’s not how I worded it before, but I can’t remember!

Zack gets married next weekend, nuts! I keep hearing from different ASU peoples that they’re coming to the wedding, it’s going to be a big ass reunion! Erica flies into Raleigh on Friday & is staying with me while she’s here, so that’ll be fun. I just wish Katherine could make it so we could ALL be together. Mac geniuses should be able to handle things without her for 2 freakin’ days!! :-P I guess we’ll just have to wait till July at Lauren’s wedding. Speaking of, she ordered the fabric from the bridal designer for me to make my bridesmaid dress!! Rock on. It ended up costing me like $50. I rock. I can’t wait to get it and start making the dress. It’s gonna be faboo.

Dum de dum.. not else much to report. As usual, my life is pretty boring. Alice & I almost checked out a speed dating thing downtown last week, but I ended up doing something else and forgetting about it. But, next time I find out about it, I’m dragging people with me. Cat said she’d go with me. So, pass the word along if you hear of something.
The girls and I are having a girls night out for Valentine’s Day.. me, Alice, Cat, Colleen (from work), Tucker (b/c Don is going to be out of town) and her friend Katie. We’ll probably have to end up at a sports bar type place b/c I imagine that’ll be the least crowded, but as long as there is a bar, we’ll have fun!!

Ok, time to focus on chat!

Speed dating seems so entertaining, sort of like rush but with boys... you'll have to let us know how it is if you guys end up going!

I'll see you in 4 days!! Omigod, omigod, omigod. =)
