The latest.. and happy almost birthday to me!!
Life for Nicole has been pretty much the same old same old.
You will be getting Christmas cards eventually. Melody pitched a fit the first time we tried to take a Christmas picture and kept leaping off my lap and going all limp when I tried to get her to sit up! Just like a kid, what's that about. Then the next time we tried she was still kinda like "what ever, I'm not doing this" and just laid there. And my mom couldn't get a pic I liked anyway.. so, we'll try again for a less posed pic, maybe. But I have not forgotten!
Work has picked up a little, altho it ends up that just about every referral ends up not meeting the criteria for treatment. Although, I think they could be tweaked to meet it, but then again, I haven't been here for that long so what do I know? It's getting slightly annoying, but we do have 2 to call to set up after the holidays, so maybe they'll work out and I'll have some kids to work with. I think, that after I get licensed, if I'm still here, that I might see about switching to just plain kids/youth mental health and forget this intensive in home crap. There is only one clinician right now that works with the kids, so maybe we'd be able to build up our own team for that.
My car is all happy now, minus it's pretty yellow ASU flag. I had to get 2 new tires after I had a flat and they checked all the tires. Then, while changing the tires they checked the brakes and I needed all new rotars, pads, etc on EVERY WHEEL! My car went into the shop with the flag rolled up in the window and came back missing it. The guys said they didn't take it off for anything, but it's not the kind of thing that could just fall off unless someone rolled down the window. So, who knows. Colleen searched all over Hanes Mall though and found me one for Christmas. =)
I should put up a pic of my cute little tree! I've been wrapping some presents, still got most of them to do though. Christmas is just going to be me & Mom & Dad for the most part. I'll go over there Christmas eve and for Christmas morning, then I think I'll have them and my brother & his family over to my house for "dinner". Just a ham and various snacky things, nothing too fancy. I spose I should do some shopping for that. My mom was going to do it and I was like, "well, it's not nearly as many people as Thanksgiving, so I can do it!!"
My sister-in-law's brithday was last weekend, so mom had them over for dinner and let them bring their chocolate lab puppy, who is already HUGE. Her dogs didn't care too much for him, altho left him alone for the most part. He, of course, wanted to play; and when he tried to, Jezzy started barking & snapping at him, which he thought was playing. So that was funny. He has ginormous feet that he clunked everywhere. I don't know if I could ever have a big dog in a house.. just too much for it to get into. He was in the trash, could reach up on the stove top and kitchen table.. CRAZY. But, he's super cute.
Colleen & I painted my dining room 2 weekends ago, it's "tennis court" green. I love it. One room to go *the spare bedroom) and maybe some hallways. I want to do some fun texture or something in the hallway.. I want no white walls in my house!!
Tomorrow night is the Chris Daughtry concert with Jacki! So excited!! That's a fabulous way to spend my birthday! We're makin' a night of it: goin out to eat and for drinks & such before, maybe some shopping. Then when I come home, Melissa will be here. Too fun.
