Interesting..

So now we have another answer to a past question re: David. No reaction what-so-ever to his engagement news. Yes, that's right.. the self proclaimed "bachelor for life", has gotten engaged. I imagine it's because I knew it was coming, he's talked about it for a while now, and they've had a wedding date since this summer. But still, it's nice to know that there are no negative emotions to go along with this, other than "aw hell, not another friend of mine getting married!!" fer de fer, I'd be happy with just having a relationship... Ah well.

In other news.. yesterday got off to a rocky start. I was sprawled on the floor in the upstairs living room at my parent's house, trying to do pilates with Onex & Pebbles right next to me. I tried to scrunch Onex away, and in doing so, I hurt her somehow and she yelped. Well, that sent Pebbles into her attack mode (explained by the vet a while ago as her hunting instinct kicking in.. a yelp means something is vulnerable and easier to catch and kill) and attacked Onex. She had her by the throat and face, and would not let go. So, adrenaline rushing, I picked them both up with Onex screaming and Pebbles snarling to get them off the floor so the other dogs wouldn't get involved. I plunked them on the kitchen table and proceeded to pull at Pebbles tail and back legs hoping to get her to let go. When that did nothing, I stuck my fingers in her mouth and pried her jaw open to let go of Onex and then threw her across the room. Onex's eye was bleeding and she had a tooth/bite mark above and below it, and one on her neck. So I tried to clean it off and called the vet. Of course, this was a holiday, so they weren't open. So, I threw Pebbles into a bedroom and locked her in there, and hopped in the car to take Onex to the emergency vet hospital where I discovered it's $71 just to sign the pet in. Holy hell. So, they took her back and about half an hour later finally called me in. She had a scratch on her eye, wounds around it that didn't need stitches, and one bad one on her neck that they had to put a staple in. They gave me the spiel on all her meds.. eye drops, ointments and antibiotics and said she should be fine, just have her checked again in a few days at the regular vet. So, 2 hours and $200 later, we got home. Pebbles got solitary confinement for the rest of the day, and I think she's still a bit scared of me for yelling and swatting and kicking at her. Damn freakin' dog. I'm glad Onex & Mel don't do that to each other. Upon leaving the vet, I called my mom and informed her that her charge for house and dog sitting had just risen considerably.

Other than that, the house sitting has been relatively calm. Granted, I haven't actually been here much other than to sleep... Jezzy has become my new friend. Cuteness.

That's about it for now. I've got to hit the hay so I can be up for staff meeting tomorrow. OH BOY!

Innnntterresting that David is engaged. Well good for him if he's happy. Personally, I'm sorta glad it isn't to you. After all the drama and sh*t he pulled, I think you're better off now without him. I'm also really glad you're ok with it (you get a toaster!), but I have to admit that I'm a bit upset for you...what's with being all afraid of marriage vows when y'all were together, only to jump in with both feet a year later (e.g. last summer to this summer) with someone else?!? Maybe he matured a lot, who knows. To each his own, but I'm still going to be protective over my Nicole! :-)
