I don't think a foot is supposed to make that kind of noise

Ow ow ow ow!!

So, I'm jumping on my mini trampoline this morning, as I usually do for 10-15 minutes before I get ready for work (it helps wake me up), and suddenly my left ankle folds and I go crashing down. As I do, I hear this horrible cracking/popping noise coming from my ankle followed by immediate & severe pain. Of course, I had to scream and yell b/c it hurt, as I was lying there on my back trying to see if I could move my foot at all, wondering if I sprained my ankle or broke a bone b/c of the crazy noise I heard!! The dogs flipped out and were attacking my face. It took me a minute of just sitting there deciding if I could move it and/or get up to either call mom or get myself to a doctor. I finally could move it in a circle and it didn't add to the pain.. so I got up and got myself into the shower. Putting weight on it was not a good idea, but I could at least hobble and move it, so I figured it wasn't broken at least. After I got out of the shower, I checked it out again and it still wasn't super swollen or purple or blue or anything, so I put an ice pack on it, took some ibuprofen and went about my morning routine.

It's now 1:30pm and it still hurts and feels like I need to pop something, but my ankle has not swelled to 5 times the normal size, and it's not bruised or anything.. so I think I'll live. I'm going to attempt to find my ankle brace and wear that for a while to give it some support b/c I'm sure I atleast strained something, if not really sprained something. And, I guess that means no more bouncing for a few days. ow. What a start to a Thursday morning. Altho.. maybe if I did go to the doc I could get out of work for a day or two or something... hehe.

~*UPDATE~*
Well, my foot did end up swelling up.. it looked like I had a giant tumor on my ankle bone, and my ankle itself was quite fat! I was able to keep moving it and walking on it, and now the swelling is just about gone. No real brusing though, yay! And I can run up and down stairs and around the house without falling over, so I guess I'm ok. Thanks for all your concern!

Owww! My foot had sympathy pains as you were describing that. Be sure to get it checked out if it doesn't feel better soon.

On a related note (body parts making noises that they aren't designed for), my eye sometimes squeaks when I rub it. Have I showed this to you?? It isn't related to my contacts, and it doesn't hurt, but I think it happens when my eye is dry or something. It sounds like a squeaky door, and it really freaks Steve out--so entertaining! :-)

Zut. I hope it's okay. =) Was it your nevicular foot or the other one? Get it checked out if it doesn't seem to get any better!!
