Beeeeeautiful Saturday
Ahh, it's really spring. All my windows are open, ceiling fans are on, and it feels heavenly in my house. I sat out in the sun with the doggies for about an hour and a half around noon today, then mowed 3/4 of my yard. The rest of it has to be raked before I can mow; there are tons of random branches and pine cones and such in the way. Now I need to go sweep up all the grass clippings and I'll be done. I should have bought some flowers while I was out to put in my pots on the porch. Maybe that will be tomorrow.
I also need to go buy some rope, so I can rig up a "run" for the doggies in the back yard. I did it today with a 25'ish piece, and then put their leashes on that so they could run around in the back yard while I was out there. But I want a really long piece to go from one side of the yard to the other. Most of the time they're ok with me out there without leashes, but Melody likes to go running and barking after any dog that walks by, and doesn't listen when I call her back. Indigo is fine without the leash no matter who goes by. She will bark a little, but as soon as I yell to her she comes right back. Wonder how she learned and Mel didn't. !? WHo knows.
That's my fun post for the day.. I have to post about working in the ghetto last week, and again this coming week. Yes, Winston-Salem does have a ghetto, and it's gross and scary and people get shot all the time! But more later, it's too nice to be inside.

Setting up a dog run is a great idea! Isn't it wonderful to have a yard?
By the way, I admire your attention to your yard... I have to be dragged outside against my will to do any trimming, weeding, planting, or mowing. I sort of wish I wasn't like that, but I'm just not a big fan of yard work! I prefer the indoor domestic life of cooking, quilting, crafts, etc., which don't generally involve insects and humidity. =)
