Piles and piles of junk mail
Lord, I just spent an hour going thru a huge pile of mail that has stacked up over the last few weeks. I usually only open stuff that I know I need to open, and leave the junk-ish looking stuff for when I'm not ready to crash into bed. (My mail comes after I've gone to work, and lately I've been working or busy all day on my days off too!!) So, today I was sick of looking at it and sorted through everything. I had 2 major piles of stuff to trash on the floor, one to recycle and stuff to shred; a pile of statements/bills that were all auto bill pay things that I just had to file; a bunch of bills that needed to be paid; and a few other various items that needed to be filed- vet papers from Indigo, pay stubs & other work papers. It's a mess. I wonder how many trees all the junk mail killed. I hate stupid mail!!
So today was my marathon babysitting day, which turned out to be significantly shorter than I expected. I babysat for my 3 usual girlies both today and yesterday from noon-six, then today went right to my other family- who usually stay out until midnight. TOnight they were home by 9:45. Bummer, when you're expecting a $70 night to only get $45! Ah well, tomorrow might make up for it, I have to be there at 5:30 and I highly doubt they'll be back before 1. They've got friends coming in from Clt, and it's 2 peoples birthdays that they're going out for. Rah. All in all though, I can't complain.. I might come close to $200!! Hurrah. It's really sad that I make more babysitting for these well behaved, no mental health issues kids than I do at TCH. I really seriously want to take a babysitting job for the summer- but I'd lose insurance if I did that, and that would not be cool at all. ah well.
Indigo had her last set of shots Thursday, and weighed in at a whopping 6.4lbs. I went ahead and made an appt for her to get spayed in a month. She's not growing at a rapid enough pace to lead me to believe she'll be big enough to breed, which makes me sad. I could wait until she's a year, but it's such a royal pain in the arse to have to go through one of their heat cycles. Melody about drove me nuts!! And, it'd be a while still before I'd want to try breeding and selling dogs.. so I'll just have to wait.
Tomorrow I am going to sleep all day!! I haven't been able to really sleep in either of my days off, since I had to pick up kiddos by noon. Thursday I usually lolligag around the apt, catching up on my lack of sleep from my work week, so I'm all out of whack now. Sunday is going to suck.. going back to FIVE, yes that's right, FIVE kids for another full week!! We went from 2 to 5 in less than 2 weeks, I think it was. That's crazy!! And, we've got 2 more waiting in the wings to come in. One is a diabetic, and we've been talking about her for a while. I got to go to one of the meetings to discuss her... still not sure if they're goig to take her or not. She is a patient of the doc I work with, so I got the scoop from her and she thinks it'd be a good thing for her to leave the home, and an even greater thing for her to come to me! =) So we'll see. I'd love the challenge, but I wonder if her other issues will over shadow the diabetes. WHo knows.
Aight, I gotta get myself into bed before I fall out of the chair. OH, speaking of that.. last night we were at Fridays for drinks.. and this woman, who we had been watching and commenting on since we sat down, out of the blue fell out of her bar chair. I mean totally wiped out and couldn't get herself back up. But, they continued to give her drinks! She was with these 2 guys, one of whom had a wedding ring.. we were trying to figure out how they were all connected, and came up with some fun stories about each of them. It entertained us, and the rest of the bar area, for the whole night!!
Ok, off I sko!

That story about the woman at the bar is hilarious. You sort of have to wonder about people who seem to be having a little too much trouble remaining in their chairs but who keep getting served alcohol!
To take care of the unwanted credit card offers, you should visit https://www.optoutprescreen.com/. Of course, if you want to receive some credit offers, you won't get any after you do this, but I'm guessing you're not big on getting that stuff. You can opt out either for five years or for life. I think you have to fill out the online form each time anew when you get a new address, but at least for the amount of time you're still at that apartment, you can stop getting so much crap! It's really easy to fill out the online form, and now that we filled it out for us, we don't get much of any of that stuff anymore except for companies that we already do business with, which apparently have every right to keep soliciting us. Oh well.
