slack ass

Ok, so I get tired of whining & complaining about the same things.. and that's what my life is lately. Dealing with work bs non stop. I'm to the point now that I just don't care. I'm doing my job the best I can. I ask for help when I need it, give and take suggestions, but even when I meet the goal of 15-20 direct service hours a week, it's not enough. So, whatever.

House is still fabulous. I've been doing some planting over the last few weeks. Peonies, glads, phlox, azaleas and pansies. My mom is doing her own gardening and brining me random flowers that she's thinned out or doesn't want. I think I planted some kind of lillies too, and she's got some evening primroses to bring me too. My yard is going to be so pretty.

Mom & I did some handy work and put up a chicken wire fence around the back yard. Still trying to figure out how to work the part of the yard between the neighbors fence & my house, which is where there needs to be a gate. The dogs can get out of the chicken wire there because of the slope of the land and because of the cement driveway.. so mom is going to call around to fence places for me and see how hopefully inexpensive it'd be to have a gate/15 ft of fencing put up so I can leave the dogs out there without having to worry about them escaping. They'd rather be in the house with me than stay outside without me.. um, hello!? I have special dogs, I know!!

I've been enjoying my deck with this warm weather lately.. layin' out in the sun on the weekends, workin' on my tan! It's pretty awesome! =)

Been hanging out with Jacki & Colleen the past few weekends.. we went out in Greensboro one Sat night & got pretty drunk & silly, and this past weekend Jacki & I went to the Fox & Hound for a bit, hoping to play pool but no one gave up a pool table! So, our drunk selves wandered around WalMart for a good little while. Always fun times!! As always, drama filled in the boy area! Nothing is ever simple with me, is it?

So, I never gave any details about the cruise. For those of you that I haven't talked to.. here's the run down. I had an absolutely fabulous time. The weather was 85-90+ the whole time, sunny & perfect.

We docked in Nassau the first day for a good chunk of time. We walked around and checked out the shops. Too bad I didn't know that this was going to be our only real place to shop. (real meaning cheap!!). We found a cute little beach & soaked up some sun. I was the only one to NOT get burned that day. Or ever really. I had a tiny bit of pinkness one day, I think, but that's it!

Second day was Carnival's private island, Half Moon Cay, which was gorgeous. The island and the water. We had to anchor a ways out from the island, so we had to ride tender boats to the island, that was neat. Got to check out the water close up.. it's amazing how blue it is, and how close the ship could get to the shore and still be in deep water!! We walked up and down the shore, saw people riding horses & parasailing and just chilled on the beach. That was a short day.

Third day was Grand Turk, which is part of the British West Indies! Learned something new. That was a kind of smallish island too.. just places to go right where we docked. The other girls went to Margaritaville, I think.. I just went in the gift shop real quick. Spent that day laying in the sun too!

Fourth day was a day at sea. I was lucky enough to snag a chair on the deck & stayed there all day. The other girls stayed out of the sun that day, I think. But I enjoyed baking and relaxing.

We went to one of the "clubs" one night and danced & drank. One night was the Captain's fancy dinner & Cocktail hour. We saw a hypnotist, the guest talent show & a comedian at the night shows. The first night we were all suffereing from the choppy sea.. even veteran cruisers were feeling the rocking. It was a trip! I felt like I was super drunk!!! Not sick at all, just not right in the head/balance dept. I never did feel sea sick. Thank GOODNESS! One day I did a spa package and got a facial, scalp, shoulder & neck massage. That was awesome. =) I ended up breaking down and shelling out money for internet time too.. to check in on my doggies. =)

So, yeah, It was fun. I want to do it again!!!

Maybe we can really organize a cruise like we used to talk about doing, now that you and I are vets and would know how to plan it. Not anytime in the very near future, mind you, but it's a great idea to ponder! I'm glad you enjoyed your cruise so much, even though it isn't easy to return to your normal life. =)
