Exhausted

Wow. I can't even keep up with my blog! That's sad. Work is just crazy. I can't pinpoint even what's different, just that it is; and when I get home at night I'm ready to zonk out and often do.

We now have this ridiculous requirement of 25 "therapy hours" per week. This means group, individual and family therapy. That'd be a piece of cake IF PARENTS SHOWED UP! We can schedule tons and tons of sessions, but half the time, no take that back 75% of the time, parent's don't show up. And it goes in spurts too. For 2 weeks, it seemed like every parent cancelled everything I had scheduled. Now, thank goodness, we're on an upward kick, but I guess it's the way the day is laid out that makes it crazy. If I really do at least 5 hours of therapy a day, I do nothing else. I had to write all my notes last week on Friday afternoon and over the weekend. I seriously had a stack almost an inch thick, and that was for a 4 day week. But, the summer is looking a little easier to plan around, and HOPEFULLY we'll have some say in laying out the next school year, so.. we shall see. I wish we could do actual case management too, because it's easier to bill and account for that time, because you can count making phone calls and gathering information. UGH! Basically we were finally told that if we didn't show these 25 hours, we'd rish getting fired. Nice, huh?? It's not too hard to show the hours on paper, but is it really helping or making a difference just to have a session with a kid to reach a quota??

Enough of that.

I FINALLY got something set up that keeps the dogs in the back yard with no escapes! Mom & I found a cute little white plastic fence thingy on clearance at Lowes (for $25 instead of $70) and put it up, along with a wooden post to hook the baby gate too.. and the dogs whine and whine but can't get out!! A couple fence places came to give estimates to put in like 10 ft of fence, including a gate, and the cheapest was $450!! What the hell does 150 ft cost? DAMN! So that's taken care of. I've been (with mom's help) planting lots of fun plants. My pansies are growing like mad! I have peonies, iris and glads all around my back deck. Some azaleas in the back yard near the big trees, and some lilies in the front. So much color!! I can't wait for them all to bloom!! My mom ordered me something that comes to be planted in the fall.. so that'll be fun! She just bought me a wheel barrow too, so I can cart stuff around the yard easier. I've been putting it into a huge bucket, but that wasn't too easy to carry when it's full of dirt or grass clumps. I'll try to remember to take some pics one of these days and post them.

Guess that's about it. It's getting to be that time of night where my eyes won't stay open.
