TGIF
For some reason, this has been one of the longest weeks ever. Uh.
Today was by far one of the most boring trainings I have ever been to.. I was about to jump outta my skin by the end of it. It was suppsed to be on CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), but it was geared to marijuana use more than anything else. Which is good, because I need all the SA training I can get, but I was a little mad that it wasn't more of a refresher for general use. I can tweak all the drug stuff to behaviors, I'm sure. But still. It wasn't what I wanted or expected. But, at least it was a day away from the office & my clients. Tomorrow morning I am stuck with the women's coping skills group, which is so depressing. Wendy has drama with some of her families, so she can't do it. This is not my area, and I think it's crap that we (Intensive In Home team) got stuck with this group because none of the other adult clinician's had time for it. Um, hello, we work mainly with kids & families with totally different types of interventions. Ugh. But, that's Daymark for ya. No logic. Amanda and I also found out that we DO NOT get paid double for being on call for holidays. WTF is that about? Might have to rethink my willingness to be on call for them then if that's the case.
Anywho, did start a post to rant. Tomorrow, weather permitting, a few of us are going to downtown jazz again. It's been storming the past few days right around 5/6pm, which is when jazz starts. But, hopefully it'll stay clear so we can go chill & hear some good music. And then hopefully the weather will stay nice on Saturday for a pool day. I also need to mow my jungle of a yard. Last weekend I hacked away 2 of the HUGE bushes/shrubs along the front of the house. THey were out of control big & taking over the windows & driveway, so I chopped em down to the stumps. I don't like bushes anyway, so my plan is to somehow get the stumps out and plant maybe some hydrangas along that side of the front of my house. They get big, and they have pretty flowers. The dogs like the view now, because they can sit on the back of the couch & look out the window!
That's about it really. I was supposed to be house/dog/pool sitting this weekend and all next week while my parents went to NY.. but Jezzy got sick and ended up having to have surgery because she had a blockage in her intesting, which they were worried was a tumor but ended up being some kind of nut she ate. It had gotten stuck in her intestine and was causing a build up of blood and stuff and brusied up her intestine pretty bad. They got it out and didn't have to take out any of her intestine, but she's still at the vet under lots of care. I think this was Monday or Tuesday. They're saying maybe she can come home tomorrow afternoon. So, mom & dad decided they needed to stick around to make sure she was ok, because even when she comes home she will need to be still and quiet, and I can't be with her all day, so they postponed their trip. Thank goodness she's ok. I don't think any of us could have dealt with losing another one of the doggies.
